County library Winter Reading Club kicks off Dec. 1

The St. Louis County Library’s Winter Reading Club will kick off Dec. 1 and run through Feb. 28.

Last year, over 45,000 readers participated in the program, which offers fun activities and great prizes for the whole family, according to a library news release. All ages are invited to participate. Registration begins Dec. 1. Interested readers can stop by any open St. Louis County Library branch to sign up.

The club offers two categories: ages 0–11 and 12–adult. Those in the younger category will be encouraged to read for five hours, and those in the older group will be asked to read four books to complete the club. Those who complete the reading challenges will be entered into a prize raffle. All open SLCL branches will choose three winners in each age group.

Prizes for children include: sleds, movie gift cards and family memberships to The Magic House. Prizes for teens and adults include: movie gift cards, Amazon gift cards and Kindle Fires.
