County councilman not the ‘savior,’ but the problem, reader contends

To the editor:

Many more accurate titles to the Steve Stenger article would have been: “Stenger asks council to put in HUD development and now tries to back out of his own project” or “Pay-to-play councilman backing out of his project and leaves us on the hook for hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

Do you not understand that we lose because of Stenger no matter what happens now? If he cancels the project — which he should — all the taxpayers will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars.

If he moves forward, the people in the community are left with a project they don’t want. He didn’t just vote on this, but presented it to the council for them to vote on.

What is this love affair for a man who goes against the church, the community and makes businesses pay to play by contributing to his campaign?

Stenger is not the savior. He is the problem. The next time he puts a similar project next to you, you will find out the hard way.
