To the editor:
I’m writing in response to the March 8 article “Council eyes quotas for minority contractors on county contracts,” which discussed the County Council’s possible plan to institute quotas or percentages of minority contractors.
What concerns taxpayers is that public funds are spent efficiently and effectively.
A purchase that is effective is of little benefit if it has an exorbitant cost.
Look at the county Board of Election Commissioners fiasco.
The County Council needs to focus on that process and remedy that before they do the new project.
