Courtney McClanahan is attending the Missouri Fine Arts Academy on the campus of Southwest Missouri State Univer-sity in Springfield where almost 200 of Missouri’s gifted visual and performing artists will be growing in the arts.
Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the program includes private and ensemble lessons, discipline specific and multi-disciplinary courses, rehearsals and studio time.
McClanahan was nominated for dance. She will be a senior at Cor Jesu Academy and has been a student at the Gerri Stretz & Yvonne Meyer Professional Dance Center for 10 years. She also studies voice with Joel Hackbarth.
She is the daughter of Gary and Maureen McClanahan of south county.
