Letters to the Editor

To the editor:

This is in response to a Nov. 21 letter written by Richard Schellhase discussing his pro-life stance on abortion.

I value all beliefs; not only does it symbolize the diverse opinions we all carry, but it further exemplifies our modern equality.

I think it would be particularly beneficial to re-read the Constitution and Bill of Rights. You will not see a clause stating that man should control a woman’s body; however, you will find in the establishment clause, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…”

I support your beliefs; however, your god does not/should not constitute what rights a woman should or should not have.

I find it abhorrent to preach for the unborn lives, yet neglect the 440,000 children crying for your attention and love in foster care. I respectfully disagree with your adverse beliefs; it is time to realize that a woman should remain in control of her body.
