A guest pastor will lead Renewal 2009 next week at Concord Trinity United Methodist Church, 5275 S. Lindbergh Blvd.
The three-night renewal series, which is designed to enhance participants’ faith and strengthen their personal relationship with Christ, will be led by Rob Weber starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Concord Trinity, according to a news release.
Weber’s video-based discipleship formation series, “Beginnings,” invites seekers, new believers and even longtime church members to take a fresh look at the Christian faith in a relaxed setting.
Besides “Beginnings,” Weber is the author of “Visual Leadership, ReConnecting: a Westlyan Guide for the Renewal of Our Congregation” and co-author of “Igniting Worship Series: Communion and Re-Connecting Worship: Where Tradition and Innovation Converge.”
Weber’s primary focus in his teachings is to develop effective leadership, multifaceted worship and a passion for being the church beyond the walls, the release stated.
As the founding pastor of Grace Community United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana, Weber is a frequent speaker and teacher at churches and conferences around the world. A native of Atlanta, he attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss., graduating with a degree in theater and philosophy.
