The Concord Bank Board of Directors today — June 4 — appointed Lance Greunke as interim president and CEO.

Greunke replaces Tony Feraro, who passed away last month. Mr. Feraro held the position for four years.

“I am honored to carry on Tony Feraro’s legacy and will continue the growth he started here at Concord Bank,” Greunke stated in a news release. “Through these difficult times, we will continue to serve our customers and the St. Louis community with the same level of commitment you have come to expect from Concord Bank.”

Greunke has nearly 20 years of banking experience, mostly in St. Louis. He has served as Concord Bank’s executive vice president and chief financial officer since 2008 and will continue in that role.

“I have the utmost confidence in Lance to lead Concord Bank now and in the future,” Concord Bank Chairman Earl Gates stated in the release. “He is an experienced leader and his dedication to the bank and to the local community makes him the ideal choice for the position of interim president and CEO.”

Mr. Feraro, 64, died May 16. He is remembered as a loving husband, proud father and loyal friend. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy; his sons, Michael, Jonathan and Scott; his daughters, Sophie and Cindy; his mother, Raphaella; and sister, Roberta.

Mr. Feraro was happiest and at his best when serving his community and surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was a vital member of the St. Louis community for decades. His generosity benefitted local organizations such as the Concord Village Lions Club, Nurses for Newborns, College Bound, Concord Elementary School, Fish for Sight and Harris House.

In his four years as president and CEO, Mr. Feraro led the recovery and growth of Concord Bank and made the company an influential part of the local community. He spent more than 25 years in the banking industry, and dedicated his career to taking banks, financial-services companies and their customers to the highest levels of success.

Mr. Feraro joined Concord Bank from Silvergate Bank in La Jolla, Calif., where he had been chief executive since 2006. Previously, he was a bank consultant and served as chief executive of Unity Bank Corp. in Clinton, N.J. He worked in St. Louis from 1984 to 1995 as president of a division of ITT Financial.

Mr. Feraro served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

A public reception, memorial and visitation took place May 22, followed by a service at Schrader Funeral Homes and Crematory. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Harris House.
