To the editor:
Both city and county areas are being overrun by carjackings/robberies, some resulting in shootings and death. Our local media, while reporting these incidents, appear to be letting those in charge off the hook.
One obvious problem in the city is that the current administration is 150 officers “short.” You can’t fight a war on crime with half an army.
Further, I would suggest all police forces be equipped with drones. Hundreds of them could be purchased for the cost of one helicopter.
Lastly I would suggest the whole metro area call a “crime summit.” Old methods are not working. Mayors/aldermen, you better act now, or we will find people who can act to protect us.
