To the editor:
I encourage all St. Louis County residents to check their preliminary 2015 property assessment.
I discovered that my land value has increased 50 percent from 2014 to 2015. Could it be that gold or oil has been discovered in south county? My real estate tax will increase 23 percent in 2015.
We can appeal our new assessments, but it seems that a proper appeal will involve a significant amount of time and money.
Perhaps our assessor, Mr. Jake Zimmerman, would like to explain this astronomic increase in land value to your readers.
