Church’s theater production wins two awards

Christ Memorial Lutheran Church’s community-theater production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” recently received two best-performance awards by the St. Louis region Arts for Life.

The production’s music director, Steve Luhmann, who also played Joseph, won Best Achievement in Musical Direction.

Female lead Kristen Ashley Heard was awarded Best Actress in a Featured Role.

Also nominated was Jonathan Luhmann for his role as Pharaoh in the category of Best Actor in a Cameo Role.

More than 2,000 people viewed Christ Memorial’s four performances of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” the first-ever Broadway-style musical production by the south county church.

Christ Memorial, 5252 S. Lindbergh Blvd., will sponsor a reprise of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” from Nov. 2 through Nov. 5.
