Christian and Jeannine Kerlick recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family members and members of the St. Catherine Laboure Parish in Sappington.
Mr. Kerlick and the former Jeannine Brumm were married Dec. 15, 1952, at Church of the Resurrection in St. Louis by the Rev. George Dreyer.
Mr. Kerlick was in the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood, so Mrs. Kerlick planned the wedding. The original date was Dec. 26, 1952. Invitations were printed and ready to mail when the U.S. Army said Mr. Kerlick had to report for engineer training on Dec. 22.
So the wedding plans were changed to Dec. 15. That was the beginning of a great marriage for Jeannine and Christian.
They are parents of six: Daniel Kerlick (deceased); Mary Vatterott; Kevin Kerlick; Mark Kerlick (deceased); Patrice Regan and Amy Koman.
They have 16 grandchildren (grandson Joseph Vatterott is deceased) and five great-grandchildren with one on the way.
