The South County Chamber of Commerce recently honored the 2011 Business Person of the Year and the 2011 Citizens of the Year.

Jerry Reinhold of Reinhold Electric was named 2011 Business Person of the Year and Alan and Helen Durbin were selected as 2011 Citizens of the Year.

Chamber President Fred Baras served as master of ceremonies for the annual awards banquet, which took place at Royale Orleans, according to a news release.

Reinhold and the Durbins have been honored in the past for service to the community. When joining the chamber, Reinhold received the Outstanding New Member Award and later the Outstanding Donation Award.

Alan Durbin had received a special award from the governor of Kansas for promoting tourism in that state. Helen Durbin, who has volunteered at St. Anthony’s Hospital for 38 years, has received numerous service awards from it, the release stated.
