Carl H. Speiser, 85, died Sept. 8.

Born in Sedalia, Mr. Speiser resided in Affton. He was a civilian aviation procurement officer.

Mr. Speiser was part of the 3rd Engineer Special Brigade, South Pacific, and a member of the 1904 World Fair Society, the Churchmen of Greater St. Louis, the Army Aviation Association of America, the Affton Historical Society, the Carondelet Historical Society and the Dutchtown South Community Corp. He was a past president of the Affton PTA, a past president of the National Contractors Managers Association, a member of the Carondelet Ecumenical Council of Churches, a longtime member of Trinity United Church of Christ and a past president of the Church Council.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Ron Schwarz; son and daughter-in-law, James and Maura Speiser; sister, Nadine Fingland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Grace Reichle, Har-vey and LaVel Reichle and Clifford and Jean Reichle; and five grandchildren. Mr. Speiser was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle A. Speiser (nee Reichle).

Services and visitation were at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons, south county. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
