Call captures top honors in ad managers’ contest

Call Newspapers advertising and art departments recently were notified they have won 16 awards in the Missouri Ad-vertising Managers’ Association 2002 Advertising Contest.

“Our staff takes a tremendous amount of pride in its work each week,” Publisher Deborah Baker said. “It’s very gratifying to be recognized by our peers for that hard work. Our advertising and creative staff provide the best value for advertising dollar. We really can do it all.”

Among the awards were sweeps in two categories: Best Ad Smaller Than a Full Page and in the Best Regularly Scheduled Section contests.

Heather Brueggemann placed second in the Best Reg-ularly Scheduled Section. The staff garnered a First Place and a Third Place in the category.

Brueggemann also received Honorable Mention in the Best Newspaper Promotion category.

Lynn Siebert received Honorable Mention in the Best Full Page Ad competition and Third Place in the Best Use of Full Color in an Ad.

Cathy Pope and artist Mark Feuring received Third Place and Honorable Mention for work on Best Single House Ads.

Baker earned Second Place and Third Place in the Best Ad Smaller Than a Full Page competition. Bill Milligan won First Place.

Baker and artist Robert Gamache received Honorable Mention for work they did in the Best Newspaper Pro-duced Insert. Baker received Honorable Mention in the Best Newspaper Promotion category.

Milligan also received Honorable Mention in the Best Single House Ad competition.

The staff won First Place for an entry in the Best Shared Signature Page and Honorable Mention in the Best One-Time Special Section.
