Amanda Black, daughter of Nolan and Cathy Black of Oakville, and Matthew Mehner, son of Hilbert Mehner of Perry-ville, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

Black of Kirkwood is a 1999 graduate of Oakville Senior High School. In 2003, she graduated from Truman State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. In 2006, she graduated from St. Louis University with a master’s degree in medical science. She is employed by Washington University of St. Louis as a physician assistant in cardiothoracic surgery at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Her fiancé, Mehner of Webster Groves, is a 1999 graduate of Perryville High School. In 2003, he graduated from Truman State University with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy. In 2004, he graduated from Truman State University with a master’s degree in accountancy. He is employed by KPMG of St. Louis as a senior associate auditor and certified public accountant.

The couple plan an Oct. 24 wedding at Concord Trinity United Methodist Church in St. Louis.
