A benefit dance for south county resident Mike Baylard, who suffered a major stroke last spring, will take place from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the St. Matthias Parish Center, 798 Buckley Road.

Baylard is in rehabilitation to overcome the effects of the stroke and is making good progress, but the medical costs of his treatment are continuing to escalate. Pro-ceeds from the dance will go toward Bay-lard’s medical bills.

The cost of the dance is $20 and includes beer, setups and snacks. Live music will be provided. Donations are being accepted to help defray the cost of the event or items that can be used for a silent auction to help raise additional funds.
