Bayless superintendent announces retirement

Bayless School District Superintendent Maureen E. Clancy-May will retire at the end of the 2011-2012 school year after 10 years as the district’s superintendent and 35 years in public education.

In the next year Clancy-May will continue to lead the Bayless staff as the district builds on its successes of recent years, and will work with the Board of Education in effort to accomplish many important goals for the district, according to a news release.

One key goal for the district and the Bayless community will be the passage of a much-needed tax levy, which would vastly improve the district’s financial standing in future years, the release stated.

“I am extremely grateful to all in the Bayless community for their help and support,” Clancy-May stated. “We have made strides both in academic performance and the moral character of our students, and I am proud of these accomplishments.”
