Bayada Home Health Care-St. Louis decided to help one local family starting in late November.

Under the direction of Director Dan Decker, the office had a Just a Drop in the Bucket campaign for donations. Every time the office staff, nursing staff, caregivers, clients and others came into the office, they put their spare change in the silver bucket, according to a news release. Over a five-week period, they collected more than $300.

Decker contacted Pastor John Morden at the South Side Church of God on Tesson Ferry Road and asked if the church had a family in need that would benefit from the donation, especially during the holiday season. Morden said the church had the perfect family that needed this type of donation, and the money was donated on Christmas Eve.

The Just a Drop in the Bucket campaign was such a success that Bayada has set a goal of $500 for the next holiday season to assist two families, the release stated.
