Color pasta on wooden plate on white table. Tasty vegetarian food
Rainbow Spaghetti
Kids love to help you make rainbow spaghetti for lunch — just like making Easter eggs! You can add turkey or chicken pieces and serve it hot, or as a cold salad on a bed of lettuce.
6 Ziploc bags
6 different colors of gel food coloring
1 lb. spaghetti, cooked
1 cup water, divided
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
⅓ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Place 2 tbsp. water into each Ziploc bag. Add 10 drops gel food coloring to each bag. Make sure to close the bags tightly, then shake until the pasta is coated in their colors.
Remove the spaghetti from each bag individually and rinse with cold water.
Drain and place all the colors in a single microwave-safe large bowl. Reheat the pasta in the microwave.
Toss spaghetti with melted butter, oil, Parmesan cheese and salt and pepper.
