Baccalaureate service set for Oakville High students

Students from the senior class of Oakville High School will participate in a Baccalaureate service at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Faith Lutheran Church, 6101 Telegraph Road.

The all-faith Christian service provides an opportunity for the students to reflect on their school careers, thank God for their accomplishments and celebrate with their family and friends during this special time in their lives, according to a news release. All participating seniors will wear their cap and gown. A reception will follow the ceremony at the church.

The theme of the candlelight service is “Carry Me,” and will include many instrumental and vocal selections performed by seniors. They also will present reflections and Scripture readings.

Local churches and merchants provide support and donations for this celebration.

The Baccalaureate service is open to all Oakville High graduating seniors, their families and the public. For reservations, call (314) 550-2127 or (314) 210-5429.
