The county prosecuting attorney’s office this week charged a Jennings teenager in connection with the theft of several cars from a south county car dealership.

Authorities charged Gary Washington, 17, with second-degree burglary and stealing a motor vehicle for allegedly stealing one of four 2011 Chevy Cameros from the Bommarito car dealership at 6127 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

Police responded to a burglary at 4 a.m. Monday at the dealership. Officers discovered that a forced entry was made into the business office and learned that four cars were missing from the lot.

Investigators traced three cars to Wellston and one car to Pagedale. Wellston police took Washington into custody for driving one of the stolen cars. The other cars were found unoccupied, police said.

Police are looking for three additional suspects responsible for driving the remaining three vehicles. Anyone with additional information about the incident should call 889-2341 or Crimestoppers at (866) 371-TIPS.
