Artwork now on display at Hagemann Elementary

The St. Louis Art Fair Public Art Collection is enriching the education of Hagemann Elementary School pupils as the school is serving as host of the Art Fair’s traveling collection through March 13.

The Public Art Collection is a permanent compilation of art purchased at the St. Louis Art Fair by the Civic Entrepreneurs Organization to expose residents to a vast array of visual arts pieces.

“The collection gives our students the opportunity to see professional artwork that they might never get to see otherwise,” art teacher Mary Dahlberg stated in a news release. “It shows them that art can be more than drawing and creating 2-D pieces.”

The collection on display at Hagemann features 35 pieces in a variety of mediums, including photography, painting, ceramics, jewelry, metal and glass. Several of the pieces Dahlberg selected for the display were created by area artists.

The free display is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays at the school, 6401 Hagemann Road. Visitors are asked to sign in at the main office upon arriving at the school. For more information. visit
