American Cancer Society sets ‘Relay for Life’

The American Cancer Society an-nounces its fourth annual “Relay for Life” will take place from 6 p.m. June 27 to 6 a.m. June 28 at Mehlville Senior High School, 3200 Lemay Ferry Road.

It is a unique fun filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for the American Cancer So-ciety, according to a news release.

At this overnight celebration, teams walk or run around the track throughout the event.

One in three Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in his lifetime. Nearly everyone will know or be related to someone who will fall victim to this dreaded disease. The Relay for Life gives everyone the opportunity to fight back and make a difference in the battle against cancer.

The Relay for Life brings the community together to celebrate those who have survived cancer and to remember those who have not, according to the release.

Anyone interested in participating in this year’s Relay for Life is asked to contact Shari McCardle at 487-0050 or Cathy Ship-ley at 293-1986.

Donations may be made out to the American Cancer Society and forwarded to: Coldwell-Banker Gundaker, Shari Mc-Cardle, 5538 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63129.
