Alumni Association Hall of Fame program set

Irene (Hagemann) Treppler and Bob Rogers next week will be inducted into the Mehlville-Oakville Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame.

The association will conduct its Hall of Fame Award program Tuesday, May 22, at the Genesis Banquet Center, 2651 Telegraph Road, 63125.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the ceremony beginning at 7 p.m.

Treppler, a member of the Mehlville High Class of 1943, served six terms in the Missouri House of Representatives. She went on to become the first Republican woman to serve in the Missouri Senate, a post she held for three terms.

A lifelong member of St. John’s Evangelical United Church of Christ, Treppler served three years on the Church Council after her retirement from politics.

Rogers, a member of the Mehlville High Class of 1959, began his Mehlville career as a physical education teacher in 1963 and retired in 1996 as superintendent.

During his tenure at Mehlville, he helped create a successful strategic plan and was instrumental in the district passing a $30 million bond issue that resulted in the construction of Rogers Elementary.

Treppler and Rogers will join Bill Nottelmann of Mehlville High’s Class of 1936 as the only members of the Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame.

Tickets cost $20 and include adult beverages and appetizers. Reservations may be made by sending a check made payable to the Mehlville-Oakville Alumni Association to Matt Cassalone at the Genesis Banquet Center. For more information, call Genesis at (314) 894-7073.
