Children love to get in their pajamas and read a great book before bedtime. So why not combine books and PJs into an amazing event that also teaches children about the importance of giving back?
Three Affton Schools — Affton Early Childhood, Mesnier Primary School and Gotsch Intermediate School — did just that with their recent Pajama Drive. Children at each school could donate 50 cents or a new pair of pajamas, and they could then wear their own PJs to school on a designated day.
The schools collected $725 and 200 new pairs of pajamas. Through the Pajama Program, Scholastic Books will now donate one new children’s book to that organization for every new pair of PJs the school has collected.
