Affton Early Childhood still enrolling
June 20, 2012
The Affton Early Childhood program still is accepting students for the 2012-2013 school year.
Space remains in both the full-day and half-day programs for ages 3 years through prekindergarten.
Construction and renovation on a new facility for the Affton Early Childhood Center at what was once an industrial site, 9832 Reavis Road, is nearing completion.
“We are very excited to welcome our students both new and returning to our program’s new home in August,” Affton Early Childhood Director Karin Fleming stated in a news release. “The building is coming along nicely and will be something the Affton community can be proud of.”
The 19,000-square-foot industrial building that will house the Affton Early Childhood Education Center will feature:
Seven classrooms, serving a minimum of 72 students.
Specialty rooms: diagnostic rooms, a health room, a project room, a lending library, and stage.
Small outdoor garden.
By design, corridors and other non-classroom areas will be useful for learning and exploring.
Reception area will include nooks where iPads can be set for children to show off their projects.
