Esley Hamilton, who has served as preservation historian for the county Parks and Recreation Department since 1977, will speak Thursday, Jan. 10, during a meeting of the Affton Chamber of Commerce at the Orlando Gardens Banquet Center, 8352 Watson Road.

Hamilton will discuss some of the historic buildings and resources of the Affton and south county areas, how they’re being protected and what more can be done.

Check-in will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon. The cost is $15 for members and $20 prepaid for nonmembers.
