Filing for two seats on the Affton School District Board of Education will open Tuesday, Dec. 11, and close Jan. 15.

The three-year terms of Michael McNeil and Christopher Castellanos will expire.  The two available seats are for three-year terms. 

Affton School District residents who are United States citizens, 24 years of age or older, and have resided in the state of Missouri one year preceding the election are eligible for candidacy. 

Candidates may file in the superintendent’s office at 8701 Mackenzie Road from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Jan. 15\, the last day for filing, candidates may file between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.   

The office will be closed from Dec. 24 to Jan. 1. 

The election will be conducted Tuesday, April 2.  Under the provisions of state law if the number of candidates who file is the same as the number of positions to be filled by the election — two — there will be no election.  If this is the case, at the April organizational meeting, the district will swear in those who file.
