• A jitterswing dance will be offered at the Concord Farmers Club, 10140 Concord School Road. Lessons start at 7 p.m. and dancing be-gins at 8 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 9
• St. Johns Evangelical United Church of Christ, 11333 St. Johns Church Road, will sponsor a German Festival featuring outdoor lawn games, music and food from 3 to 7 p.m. The Waterloo German Band will perform from 4 to 7 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In case of rain, the concert will be moved indoors.
• The Gateway Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society will host its 12th annual Model Contest and Vendor Swap Meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Southwest-Route 66, 10709 Watson Road. Admission is $3. Admission plus model contest registration will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and costs $10. Children 14 years old and younger are admitted free. • The Kenna Fletcher Daly Memorial Trivia Night and Silent Auction will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 1420 S. Sappington Road.
